Physical Overview
Front Panel Layout
The BB-400 front panel features multiple indicator LEDs and connection ports arranged for easy access during installation and operation.
Network Ports
UPLINK Port: Connects to the wider network (WAN). Use this port to connect to your corporate network or internet gateway.
LAN Port: Creates a local network segment controlled by the BB-400. Devices connected to this port are isolated from the uplink network by the BB-400's integrated firewall.
LED Indicators
The BB-400 provides comprehensive status indication through multiple LED groups.

DIO Status LEDs (0-7)
The eight DIO status LEDs indicate the state of each digital I/O line. By default, LEDs illuminate when the corresponding line is high and extinguish when low. This behaviour is user-configurable through software.
Terminal Block Connections
The BB-400 uses colour-coded, removable 5-pin terminal blocks (3.5 mm pitch) for I/O, serial, and power connections.
Green Terminal Block - DIO 0-3
| Pin 1 | Pin 2 | Pin 3 | Pin 4 | Pin 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| -V | DIO 0 | DIO 1 | DIO 2 | DIO 3 |
Yellow Terminal Block - DIO 4-7
| Pin 1 | Pin 2 | Pin 3 | Pin 4 | Pin 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| -V | DIO 4 | DIO 5 | DIO 6 | DIO 7 |
Grey Terminal Block - Serial Port
| Mode | Pin 1 | Pin 2 | Pin 3 | Pin 4 | Pin 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RS-232 | Sig GND | CTS | RxD | RTS | TxD |
| RS-422/485 FD | Sig GND | RxD- | RxD+ | TxD+ | TxD- |
