BB-Eco 1.1.1

October 2026. A security and fix update to 1.1.0. It arrives through the app's own update check: Settings > About, or Restart to update when BB-Eco tells you one is ready. We recommend it for every 1.1.0 installation.

Security​

  • Electron 44.9.3. BB-Eco is built on Electron, which draws its window and shows each device's own web page on the Web Config tab. 1.1.1 moves to Electron 44.9.3, which fixes a high-severity vulnerability in the version 1.1.0 was built on.

Changed​

  • Links to brainboxes.com say they came from BB-Eco. Learn More on the Add Device page and Brainboxes Website in Settings > About open our website with campaign tags (utm_source=bb-eco, utm_medium=app, utm_campaign=bb-eco, and utm_content=add-device or about), so we can see which pages BB-Eco users visit. Nothing about your computer, your network or your devices is added. Links to this documentation and to a device's own web page are unchanged.

Fixed​

  • An ED device that goes quiet during a firmware update. When an ED device's bootloader was answered and then sent nothing more, BB-Eco said its identity block had been erased and the device needed a bench reflash. That message could appear for a device that was working normally, such as one being downgraded to older firmware. BB-Eco now says what it saw and what to do: check the device's power and network cable, power-cycle it, and recover it. Contact Brainboxes support only if it goes quiet like this every time it is answered. The command-line tool's --vendor-identity help no longer makes the same claim.
  • Getting started. Apply one template to many devices in the getting-started checklist now opens Apply a template to many devices.
  • Diagnostics for Brainboxes support. The file that Export Logs and Email Brainboxes Support save now says, for each device, whether it was online, offline or stuck in its bootloader, beside its last-known firmware version.
  • Firmware update logs. When a device does not take the update command at first, the log now says which checks it still answered before BB-Eco sends the command again.

Getting the update​

BB-Eco checks for updates on the channel you have chosen and tells you when one is ready. Open Settings > About to check now, then Restart to update. The command-line tool is updated separately; see Install BB-Eco.
