Installation
Pre-Installation Checklist
Before installation, verify the following:
- Package contents are complete and undamaged
- Installation location meets environmental requirements
- Power supply voltage is within specification (+5V to +30V DC)
- Appropriate tools and cables are available
- Network configuration details are documented
DIN Rail Mounting
The BB-400 is designed for mounting on standard 35 mm DIN rail.
- Position the device at the desired location on the DIN rail.
- Hook the upper mounting clip over the top of the rail.
- Press firmly downward and rotate the bottom of the unit until the lower clip snaps onto the rail.
- Verify the device is securely attached by gently pulling on it.
Attaching the Wi-Fi Antenna
- Locate the SMA antenna connector on the right side of the unit.
- Thread the antenna connector onto the SMA connector hand-tight.
- Position the antenna for optimal signal reception. An antenna extension cable may be used if required.
Power Connection
WARNING
Verify power supply polarity before connecting. Reverse polarity protection is provided but extended reverse voltage may cause damage.
- Connect the negative (-) terminal of your power supply to Pin 1 (-V) on the black terminal block.
- Connect the positive (+) terminal to either Pin 2 (+V A) or Pin 3 (+V B), or both for redundancy.
- Apply power. The Pre-charge LED will flash while the supercapacitors charge.
- When the Running LED illuminates solid, the device is ready for configuration.
Network Connection
Connect the UPLINK port to your network using a standard Ethernet cable. The BB-400 supports Auto-MDIX, so crossover cables are not required.
The LAN port may be used to create a secondary network segment or to connect additional devices that should be isolated from the main network.
